Meet Servando Melendrez

I’m a Computer Animation and Game Development student at California State University, Chico, pursuing the Game Development option, with a strong interest in game production, project management, and collaborative development.

My background combines hands-on game development with real leadership experience. Through academic and independent projects, I’ve worked on gameplay prototypes, 3D assets, environments, and full game builds, while also taking on roles that involve coordinating tasks, managing timelines, and supporting team communication. I enjoy helping creative ideas move from concept to completion and making sure teams stay aligned throughout the process.

Outside of game development, my work as a North State Student Ambassador has shaped how I approach leadership and collaboration. I’ve helped plan and lead the Rural Student Voice Conference, contributed to the development of a new program concept, and worked closely with students, faculty, and community partners. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to lead with empathy and organization.

I recently returned from studying abroad at De Montfort University in Leicester, England, where I expanded my experience in game development and digital production. Working in an international academic environment helped me grow as a collaborator and adapt to new workflows and perspectives.

I’m currently continuing to expand my portfolio, with the goal of pursuing opportunities in the games industry where I can contribute as a producer or project-focused team member who values creativity, teamwork, and thoughtful execution.
